This project involved the planting out of riparian zone vegetation along the Southern Bank of Janes Creek, between Glenella Connection Road and Hicks Road. This section of the creek was formally bordered by cane paddocks which were cleared right up to the top of bank, which severely limited the riparian zone. This area no longer supports cane and is now home to the new Mackay Regional Football Zone soccer fields and an open grass paddock (which is regularly mown by Mackay Regional Council). 2000 plants/trees were planted in this 800m long x 12m wide zone.
