To ensure the validity of both the assessment methodology and the data used in the annual report cards produced by the Healthy Rivers to Reef Partnership, review by the Reef Independent Science Panel (ISP) has been included at key points during their development. Specifically, the ISP has reviewed the assessment methodologies for all data included in the report cards produced to date and the accompanying technical reports.
After the release of the Mackay-Whitsunday 2014 pilot report card and the 2015 report card, many improvements have been made to methodologies and scoring of the report card’s environmental indicators. This has meant amendments to previously reported scores in the 2014 pilot report card and the 2015 report card. These amendments allow for direct comparison of results between reporting years. The adopted improvements, and how they impacted on the results of the Mackay-Whitsunday 2014 pilot report card and 2015 report card, can be found in the 2016 technical reports, available here soon.
These improvements reflect the Partnership’s commitment to continued improvement and use of the most up-to-date science. Please contact the Partnership for a copy of the original 2014 pilot report card and 2015 report card and technical reports relating to environmental indicators.
