Cultural Heritage site assessments were undertaken in 2016 and were reported on in the 2015 report card. Assessments were undertaken in the St Helens zone, Cape Hillsborough zone and Whitsunday, Hook and South Molle Islands zones. In total, 21 sites were assessed across the three zones. This included shell middens, rock shelters, fish traps, quarries and paintings. Zones were scored against spiritual/social values, scientific values, physical condition, protection of sites and cultural maintenance indicators.
