The convenience of an environmentally important ecosystem in the backyard of a school is an educational asset waiting to be explored. The wetland, which is located on the grounds at Mackillop Catholic Primary School, once had a functioning ‘outdoor classroom’ for all manner of school subjects.

Conservation Volunteers Australia (CVA) supported by Rio Tinto Hail Creek Mine (RTCA) Community Development Fund will be restoring the wetland to its former glory and we need your help so that students and teachers alike can reconnect to the environment and see the importance of wetland conservation and its relevance to the local community.
