Volunteers will be providing some tender loving care to an area of remnant vegetation along the Gooseponds. These areas are important to look after as they provide special insight into what the site may have looked like with the surrounding vegetation pre-european settlement.
By removing invasive weeds that are competing with native species we increase their survival rate. In doing this, we will see an increase in the native vegetation cover, which will in turn overshadow weeds to reduce their abundance whilst most importantly providing habitat for other native flora & fauna.
