The Coral Esplanade Foreshore Revegetation Project has seen native plants installed along the many creeklines and drainage channels that flow through the Cannonvale foreshore area and into Pioneer Bay. This ongoing project was funded initially under the QLD Government’s Everyone’s Environment Program in 2014. WCL staff & volunteers visit the site regularly to undertake maintenance of the planting site & monitor the outcomes. It is an very exposed site and weed infestation is a perennial problem. In 2016/17 Cannonvale State School children were engaged in planting our some of the site with new native riparian plants.
