Nelly Bay Restoration Project

Home / Partner Map Submission / Nelly Bay Restoration Project

Nelly Bay is home to unique patches of critically endangered beach scrub (RE8.2.2). This project has seen priority weeds at Nelly Bay treated, some long stem revegetation trialled, marine debris removed from the area, more signage installed to inform visitors and residents of the importance of conserving the area and access and fencing considered. Whitsunday Catchment Landcare (WCL) were involved in delivering the project and engagement of community to assist with works. Further learning opportunities were provided through an ecological walk.
